It’s rare in today’s climate and warms my heart on such a heartbreaking day. I

department 24 years and was already counting down the days until retirement,
I’m sure after todays events, that day can not come soon enough. Thank you for
all that you do. I’m not sure if you were working this afternoon, regardless,
we are all here for you and the VBFD and medics as well. It’s a team effort and

I work on the first floor at the front desk and my coworkers and I heard some
loud bangs and saw a lady and the end of the hallway and thought she had fallen
down the stairs so we were all trying to help her, and didn't realize they were
gunshots until someone said she had been shot. We heard metal falling and
didn't realize what it was. It was horrible to see her. We hid under desks and
then ran away when the coast was clear and I peeled out of there and went home.
Terrible.
