It was completely revolutionary and one of the greatest human inventions creating a more free and meaningful existence for more people than any system had. It’s fine to have discussions about social safety nets and public policy to further raise up the poor. You can do things like have the freedom to do business as you please but also have caps on the wealth you can accumulate relative to your lowest earning employees so we don’t get these obscene disparities, etc. I’m all for that personally.

It doesn’t matter if the police didn’t report his name. CNN and the NYT both reported his name and information hours after the shooting and continue to post articles about him as they get more information. His name is all over the internet. Literally nothing has changed because one less person said his name and we found it out (with much more information) an hour later.I don’t know how the U.S government can do anything to stop these acts of violence (I’m from Canada). There’s just way too many guns in the country and too many people who profit off of the circulation of these weapons. Some will argue against heavy control for the sake of defense and protection againstcriminals/government tyranny. Others simply want it for recreation/hunting. These are all reasonable and respectable when the weapon is in the hands of a responsible gun owner. The problem lies in who is and isn’t a responsible gun owner.
