Of course I'm also terribly bothered by the fact that this continues to happen, time and time again, and by the fact that at this point, I'm basically acclimated to this. Mass shootings have gotten so bad that I actually thought "12 isn't that bad" as if that's not a dozen human lives with friends, families, careers, hobbies, aspirations, desires, goals, emotions, and lives. I'm basically numb to situations like this. I release people daily that have no business in the real world. On meds they are fine but we discharge them to homeless shelters. You think they worry about hitching a ride to Rite Aid and paying for their meds? Cigarettes are a far more desirable coping mechanism to them. We need to pay taxes to provide meals and a room and someone to help them stay on track every day. We pay for them one way or another. It's not a choice.This guy suffered loss and acted on his emotions. I'm interested to know his history, his situation, and why he thought it called for a massacre.

It doesn’t matter if the police didn’t report his name. CNN and the NYT both reported his name and information hours after the shooting and continue to post articles about him as they get more information. His name is all over the internet. Literally nothing has changed because one less person said his name and we found it out (with much more information) an hour later.I don’t know how the U.S government can do anything to stop these acts of violence (I’m from Canada). There’s just way too many guns in the country and too many people who profit off of the circulation of these weapons. Some will argue against heavy control for the sake of defense and protection againstcriminals/government tyranny. Others simply want it for recreation/hunting. These are all reasonable and respectable when the weapon is in the hands of a responsible gun owner. The problem lies in who is and isn’t a responsible gun owner.
